As Chairman of the RACE Board and a member of the RACE Group of Club's I am always delighted to welcome new Members. The best way to enjoy the facilities and experience a great day out at Awapuni is to become a regular racegoer here. The Board can now also offer you some new exciting Membership options with the Wellington Racing Club having joined us at RACE. We now have options that include reciprocal membership rights at Trentham. Racing provides a great spectacle and there is a lot to be said about enjoying the fun and excitement of a day at the races with your family and friends. As a member of any one of the four RACE Partnership of Clubs you have the opportunity to participate fully in this great industry of ours. As a member you will receive regular newsletters and information about the activities here, along with guest tickets for the racedays. There are a number of options available for members, which are detailed here. I look forward to seeing you at Awapuni or Trentham at one of our upcoming racedays. Some exciting new options exist to join as a Member of RACE. These include joining as a "Premier" Member and paying $175 or you can join as a full RACE Member and pay $100. You will receive the following benefits:
PREMIER MEMBERSHIP ($175) - Membership of either Manawatu/Marton.Feilding/Rangitikei Racing Clubs * complimentary admission to the Awapuni racecourse for all 17 race meetings throughout the year * access the Members facilities on all 17 days * additional guest badge for the season * regular Members newsletters * Annual Report and invitation to attend Annual General Meeting * Invitation to special events throughout the year * Reciprocal membership privileges with various other major NZ Racing Clubs including Auckland, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Counties, Wanganui and Canterbury * Wellington RC Membership guest card and complimentary guest pass for all meetings including Wellington Cup Day. * Wellington RC Membership card will also entittle you to International reciprocal rights with: Australian Jockey Club (Sydney), Brisbane Amatuer Turf Club, Gold Coast Turf Club, Queensland Turf Club, Sydney Turf Club, Melbourne Racing Club, Victoria Racing Club, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Singapore Turf Club - reciprocal privileges subject to Club's guest policy. 1: Country Club Member ($40) - join as voting member of either Marton JC, Feilding JC or Rangitikei RC and receive members guest privileges for the nine racedays conducted by the three country Clubs - including additional guest badge. (Does not include Manawatu racedays).
2: Country Club Single Member ($30) - join as voting member of any of the three Country Clubs (as above). Does not include additional guest badge. 3: Under 30 Member ($30) - join as a member of the Manawatu RC - for persons under 30 yeas of age with reciprocal privileges for all 17 racedays as Awapuni, plus reciprocal rights for other New Zealand Racing Clubs. Does not provide voting rights at Club elections or Annual General Meeting.

1: How do I contact the Awapuni Racing Clubs? All four Clubs are administered from our office at the Awapuni racecourse. Postal address is PO Box 52 Palmerston North. Tel: (06) 3564940. Fax (06) 3542885. email info@manawaturacing.co.nz. 2: Can I bring guests to Races? Yes. Your annual guest card is transferable and can be used for all meetings. As a member you can purchase additional guest tickets for any raceday. Members stand guest tickets generally cost $10 for the day. Contact the club for more details. 3: Do I need to have a Member propose/second my nomination? No the committee will confirm your membership application at their next meeting. 4: Where can I find out about upcoming racedates, special functions and other Club activities? Most of the information you require should be available on the Awapuni Racing website. For further information contact the Club Membership manager, Brent Wall (tel 356-4940) email brent@manawaturacing.co.nz 5: What are the Members dress regulations? A reasonable standard to dress is expected at all times. Jacket/tie is not a requirement. Dress jeans/short sleeve dress shirts are acceptable. Cut down jeans, rugby shorts and tops, t-shirt, sandals etc would not be considered appropriate dress standard for Members stand. The Club reserves the right not to admit any member or their guest who is not suitably attired. 6: Is my membership card transferable, can I let someone else use it? No your members pass is not transferable. 7: Are children allowed in the Members stand? Children under 16 will be admitted on racedays provided they are accompanied by an adult. 8: Reciprocal rights with Other NZ Racing Clubs - how does this work? Members will be expected to pay gate entry fee if visiting another Club. Please present your Club membership ticket at the raceday office on arrival at the course. A member’s guest ticket for the day will be issued to you. Please note the Wellington Racing Club is not able to provide RACE members with reciprocal membership rights on Wellington Cup Day. However the WRC will make Members Stand guest tickets available to full RACE members on all other days at Trentham. 9: Letter of introduction for members traveling overseas. We are able to assist by providing members with a letter of introduction to overseas racing clubs. To obtain a letter of introduction please contact Brent Wall (Membership Manager) in advance of your trip. We are not able to confirm what reciprocal privileges (if any) will be provided, but most Australian and overseas Clubs will welcome New Zealand visitors outside of their major carnivals. You may be required to purchase guest tickets for the day.
