EL HERMANO NOW STANDING HIS THIRD STUD SEASON AT CHEVAL STUD
 This stunning looking full brother to Cox Plate winner and champion Australian race horse El Segundo by Waikato Stud's very successful Sire "PINS" from the ten race winning mare 'PARLOS VERDOS" (by Oak Ridge)
His first crop of foals has created an enormous response. They have so many of their father's attributes, especially his amazing temperament and attitude. Everyone who has one is so pleased with them and the positive feedback just keeps coming.
El Segundo is his sire's most successful of a long list of top performers to date, making him joint head of 2006-7 Australasian 4yo + classification. With his winning 4 Gr1 Races including MVRC Cox Plate, MRC Yalumba Stakes, Underwood Stakes and CF Orr Stakes having previously run 2nd in the Cox Plate and amass Au$3,964375 in earnings. We at Cheval took no convincing that at only a $1000 + gst booking fee here was a young horse worthy of an opportunity at Stud. Injury during breaking in prevented this magnificant $500,000 yearling from ever racing. He ticks all the boxes, temperament, conformation, pedigree - you name it, he's got it!
Upcoming Season 2010 for El Hermano
The El Hermano Syndicate have agreed for us to stand El Hermano for a Booking Fee of $1000 + gst for his second season at Stud.
We received a tremendous response to him in his first season with incredible results all round. He proved to be extremely fertile and covered his mares amazingly well. His temperament has remained infalable.
He has at last 97 tested positive in foal that we know about so our objectives have been well and truly achieved. All up he served 114 mares and due to his amazing fertility he handled this number with ease.
A big thankyou to all those people who supported him in his first season.
As expected we have been inundated with enquiries re his seacond season fee, etc.
We are again offering a refund for mares that fail to conceive - i.e. -
This year's discount will be for $240 worth of agistment credited to any mare that has resided at the Stud during the Stud season and failed to conceive.
We are again offering agistment at $8 + gst per day for dry mares. Foaling fees $350 + gst plus pre and post foaling drug costs.
Wet mares will be $10 + gst per day.
Pleasingly El Hermano received some really well bred mares that have clicked with his sire "Pins" who is still running red hot with his progeny performances. Also included in his sires represented were mares by Storm Cat, More Than Ready, Pentire, Twining, Dahare, Rhythm, Defensive Play, Prized, Snippets, Marscay, Crested Wave, Zabeel etc. etc.
