Haunui Update
Well, yet another month has flown by and the weather doesn’t seem to have relented at all. In saying that, we have been carrying out weanling inspections over the last two weeks and we are more than happy with the progress that they are making.
Black type success continues
Art Success (NZ) (Pentire – Zabelette by Zabeel) added his name to the Haunui Honours Board for the current season after his last to first victory in the Group Three Chairman’s Cup in Brisbane last month. He now heads towards the Group One Brisbane Cup (3200m) on the 12th of June.
Mikki Street (NZ) (Cape Cross – Ocean Pearl by Crested Wave) maintained his consistent record with another Listed placing last month. Placed second in the Listed Postponed Anzac 1600 on ANZAC Day, he then ran third in the Listed Marton JC Savabeel 1600 in the last weekend of May.
Octapussy (NZ) (Octagonal – Dopff by Tights) continues to fly the flag for Haunui in Australia. Lining up in the Group One Doomben Cup (2200m), she finished second adding to her Group Two placing in the Emancipation Stakes (1600m) over the Easter carnival.
It was certainly an outstanding effort and John Hawkes is now setting her for the Group Two Winter Stakes dropping her back to 1500m after a bit of a freshen up. We’ll be hoping she can break through for that stakes win.
Breeding decisions
As an added tool on our website, we have included a Tesio Mating option where you can view a six generation test mating of you mare with either Elusive City or Don Eduardo so we would urge you to visit the stallions page and try this option. If you would like further analysis to be undertaken, please contact Shannon either in the office or on mobile 0212 855 513 and she will be able to assist you with this.

Elusive City (USA)
|
In May we announced that Elusive City (USA) (Elusive Quality) will be standing alongside Don Eduardo (NZ) (Zabeel) at Haunui for the 2006 season.
Our promotional material is out and we are certain that it will be the most innovative you will see this season.
There are a number of special offers available to breeders and in particular, those who have supported Haunui and our stallions in the past in the form of a "two for the price of one" offer. New clients will be given the opportunity to win their service for free so for further information, please contact us at the Haunui office. |

Van Nistelrooy Returns
At the beginning of June it was also announced that Van Nistelrooy
(USA) (Storm Cat) will be returning to Trelawney Stud for
his fourth season and we are pleased to be continuing our association
with Van Nistelrooy and our partners in the horse.
Van Nistelrooy’s sales results have given us great confidence as there were a number of very good judges to purchase his progeny including Paul Moroney, Kieran Moore, Steve Brem, Kris Lees and, Trevor McKee.
The Sydney Easter Sale saw some outstanding results for Van Nistelrooy with all of his yearlings selling for six figures placing him fourth on the first season sires table behind Elusive Quality, Rock of Gibraltar and Hussonet.
He will stand the 2006 season at Trelawney Stud for a fee of NZ$10,000 + GST (live foal guarantee).
