Another Win in Hong Kong for Gold Striker 6 Mar 2007
Haunui born and raised, Gold Striker (NZ) (Faltaat) has fashioned a consistent and impressive record since debuting in Hong Kong in 2004.

Bred by Frankie Cheung, Ken Chong and Gordon Fong, the trio who bred and raced Surfer’s Paradise, Gold Striker was sold by Haunui Farm at the 2003 Select Sale where he was purchased for $45,000 by Colin Jillings.

Out of a half sister to Surfer’s Paradise in the form of Lady Centaine (NZ) (Centaine) the son of Faltaat was never sent to the races in New Zealand and debuted in Hong Kong as a three-year-old where his first three starts produced two fourths and a second before his breakthrough victory over 1400m.

From 27 starts, Gold Striker has finished in the money on all but four occasions notching up six wins, eight seconds, a third and over HK$5 million in earnings along the way. From seven starts in his current campaign, Gold Striker has two firsts, three seconds and a third to his credit for trainer John Size and owners The Honourable and Mrs Tommy Cheung Yu Yan.

A half sister to Surfer’s Paradise and the dam of Gold Striker in Super Paradise (NZ) (Honor Grades) is currently residing at Haunui. Owned in partnership with client Garry Baker, she has a Don Eduardo filly at foot and is back on foal to Don Eduardo.
