Two riders were suspended, two horses bled, a Group I winning jockey was fined and a star rider will front an inquiry after an action packed Turnbull Stakes meeting at Flemington on Saturday.
Nash Rawiller and Blake Shinn, ironically both back in Victoria after their new "home state" of New South Wales was crippled by EI, were both suspended late today.
Rawiller will spend just a week on the sidelines, kicking off his ban following tomorrow's Benalla Cup meeting - but subject to appeal he wont be free to return until after next Saturday's Caulfield Guineas meeting.
Stewards took exception to his handling of the Gilgai Stakes winner Stanzout, particularly when he allowed his mount to shift and make contact with runner-up Shadoways near the post.
A protest fired in by Damien Oliver, who rode Shadoways, was dismissed by stewards.
Meanwhile, Shinn was outed for his ride aboard Harvard in the last of ten races - the Peter Rowland at Flemington Handicap.
He was found guilty of allowing his mount to shift out when not clear of North of Havana, causing interference to that runner and eventual winner Arbitration.
Subject to appeal Shinn will be out of the saddle from midnight tomorrow (after Benalla) and not back until the 19th - Caulfield Cup eve. Shinn will also miss the Guineas meeting.
In other news from the stewards room Permaiscuous is likely to be retired after suffering a bleeding attack in the last race and copping a three month ban.
At the time of the bleed she was terribly out of form after showing a great deal of promise as a three-year-old last season.
The career of Our Apache is certainly over. The baldy faced performer bled for the second time in the same tenth race.
Group I jockey Vlad Duric is a little lighter in the pocket after being fined $300 by stewards.
The fine related to him removing his skull cap against the rules after winning the recent Sir Rupert Clark Stakes aboard Bon Hoffa.
Meanwhile, Pins on Parade will be spelled after pulling up sore in the Concept Sports Stakes won by outsider Dandy Dollar.
And jockey Craig Williams will be called to front stewards in an inquiry following the Concept Sports Stakes.
Evidence was earlier taken from Williams and fellow riders Jason Benbow, Craig Newitt and Chris Symons before the process was halted when Williams became indisposed.
The inquiry is in relation to Nine Tales being checked and Confidence Reef and Bitter Lager being hampered near the 1100 metre mark. Williams was riding Husson Lightning.
Williams will be trying to steer clear of suspensions as be prepares to ride the already warm Cox Plate favourite Miss Finland.
