At Mangatiti Bloodstock we aim to provide complete care for the thoroughbred from conception to the racetrack.
Whether it be taking mares for foaling or walking in, preparing horses for sale or training horses for race-day – Mangatiti Bloodstock can do it all. New Equine Water Treadmill in new barn operating, available to resident and walkins. Mangatiti Bloodstock is a thoroughbred property of some 53 acres of rich alluvial soil situated just 10 minutes from Palmerston North, at the lower end of New Zealand's North Island. It was established in 1995 by Tony and Judith Bambry after selling their 700 acre sheep and beef farm at Pongaroa in the North Wairarapa. Tony is from a family which has raced horses since the early 1930s and he had always been destined to pursuing a career in the thoroughbred industry. Tony and Judith stood the exciting stallion prospect Chinese Gold until his recent demise. The 2005 crop will therefore be his last. Tony also acts as a Bloodstock Agent and he is presently the Vice President of the Central Districts Branch of the New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders. Tony and Judith married in 1984 and have two daughters, Samantha and Christine, who are also involved in racing. Samantha is busy riding trackwork each morning, a Jockey and then works at the home farm helping pretrain horses on our new Equine Water Treadmill. Christine takes every opportunity to work at Hamilton’s Curraghmore Stud for Yearling preps and was secretary of the Central Districts Thoroughbred Breeders Association and also studied at Massey University doing a Bachelor of Applied Science. She has also spent time at Highclere Stud in Newbury, England gaining some valuable international experience in August - December 2008. We are a family operation and pride ourselves on the fact that every horse on the property receives hands-on care to cater for their individual needs.
