STRAVINSKY

A champion sprinter descending from a ‘blue blood’ family, Stravinsky is now one of the hottest sires in Australasia. Since beginning stud duties in 2000 he has proven himself a success in both hemispheres and is already the sire of 27 SW.

The demand for Stravinsky’s progeny was evident at the Karaka 2006 Yearling Sales with local buyers bidding against representatives from Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. In total 19 Stravinsky yearlings sold through the Karaka Premier session for a $212,447 average, including the top priced colt (Stravinsky ex Grand Echezeaux) selling for $2,200,000.

The Oaks Stud has been a consistant supporter of Stravinsky since he commenced his stud career. The Oaks this year selling a Stravinsky filly from Final Show (Sir Tristham) for $350,000 and a Stravinsky colt from Wildn’sensuous (Unbridled) for $270,000.
