Rob Burnet specialises in purchasing fillies from the New Zealand and Australian yearling sales.
These fillies are purchased for private clients, as well as being syndicated through existing and new clients of Thoroughbred Investor Ltd.
Successful purchases include Irlanda, a bay filly by O’Reilly, out of Cenphic, by Centaine. Purchased for $NZ38,000 this athletic mare was Group 1 placed, and won at Group 2,3 and listed level before being retired to stud in 2008.
Horses previously purchased include.
Irish Nova, a bay filly by O'Reilly, out of Night Star, by Centaine. Group II placed in the Wakefield Stakes (1200m) in her second race day start, and she was successfully sold for stud duties by her owners.
Centapin, a bay filly by Pins, out of Centakin, by Centaine. Five times winner, including winning three in succession, and retired to stud in 2008.
Illicitly. Bay mare Kaapstad-Pleasure, by Nassipour. An elegant winning three-times winning mare Illicitly is the half-sister to the Group I Brisbane Cup winner Piachay. Her second dam is Eastern Joy, the Group I winning Top Filly on the 1984/85 NZ 3YO Free Hcp and second Top Filly on the Australasian 3YO Classification.
Illicitly is now at stud for her owners.
Madame Faubourg. Chestnut mare Star Board-Donnare, by Grey Dawn. Group placed and a four times winner. Two foals to race including Group I and Group II placed Kingside (Kaapstad), and four-times NSW metropolitan winner Fianchetto (Montjeu).
Madame Faubourg continues producing at stud.
Brilliant Princess. An unraced mare by Spectrum this mare is the producer of the Group 1 winner Prince Kaapstad (Kaapstad), and she continues to produce at stud.
