The founder of Ra Ora Stud, Sir Woolf Fisher once said:

“Racing is neither a sport nor a business, it is something in between”.

We have four yearlings destined for the 2012 National Yearling Sales including 1/2 brothers to two current season performing racehorses Urgent Bells (Pentire ex Bouquet Toss by Nureyev)and Shaken (Chianti ex Head Enfilade) - since sold to Hong Kong for serious money.

Our home bred horses are performing well headed by Tuscan Spirit - current season winner and also winner of four consecutive 4 starts at 3 years and the highest rated 3 year old in Hong Kong in 2009 and multiple Group placed in 2010 including 3rd in the Group 1 HKJC Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Classic Mile on 24th January 2010.

Our present NZ star is Richard a winning 2 year old and a last start stakes placed in the ARC Champagne Stakes. Richard is trained by Stephen McKee and owned by Trevor of Sunline fame and he will be a competitve horse for the 2011 Spring classic races.

Chianti has another excellent prospect in Singapore with his 2 year old son Rotorua running an excellent 2nd in the Group III Magic Millions Classic at his 2nd career start in late July 2010, and winning two subsequent starts as a 3 year old.

We also bred a rising Malaysian star Mayo's Dancer (Chianti - Top Dance) winner of 5 races to 15 January 2011.

Our new stallion - Australian multiple Group winning 2 year old Danger Looms (pictured on the right) has 2 year olds and several are in work and are impressing their trainers.

Danger Looms paraded at the Manawatu Breeders'Stallion Tour in July 2011 and was very well received.

Our objective is to breed a horse capable of competing in and hopefully winning the Cox Plate. We believe that this race is the benchmark for racehorse performance in Australasia.

We hope that you enjoy browsing through this site and would welcome any enquiries you may have concerning the stallions - Chianti, and Danger Looms - or our other stock.
