Chianti is a full brother to Desert King. Desert King is Australia’s most improved sire and is now a leading sire in the competitive Australian racing industry. In the past 12 months he has sired 6 Group I winners – more than any other sire son of Danehill including the Champion mare and Australian Horse of the Year Makybe Diva , Desert War (dual AJC Epsom Hcp and McKinnon Stakes winner) and Lachlan River (Queensland Derby).
Desert King stands at Lynden Park Stud in Victoria (www.lyndenparkstud.com.au)
Chianti, his full brother Desert King and Zabeel have much in common. They are all out of Nureyev mares.
Chianti was a faster and more precocious two year old than Desert King. His first crop foals are impressive. His colts out of Sydney stakes winner - Top Dance and Winning Point (by Housebuster) feature in the September 2005 NZ Bloodhorse magazine.
NZ Breeding record
Chianti is standing the 2010 season at a new farm to be set up in the Waikato district.
